I can edit now!

I finally got a new computer and can edit videos again woohoo!  So to celebrate I put this quick thing together for winter storm Nemo, I'll be slowly going through my old footage and putting together edits, as well as getting new footage.  But anyways here is the Nemo edit, great weekend that started with bikes in the snow, had a storm day at Cannon with 12"+, and returned to Highland for a bluebird sunday.





Smitty, Bubba, Keith and myself hit up Wachusett Saturday for the day before the season ends.  Its always a good time to dig in the morning and snowboard in the afternoon.

Moonshine at the trails keeps us warm before the weather really gets warm.

Spring is just about here

Been a pretty sweet winter snow wise if you're into that kind of thing, which I am.  Still snow to be had and hope to get in a couple more days.

No good trails videos yet though so this will have to do.

Sprinter

Spring + Winter = Sprinter and that seems like the season we're in right now.  Two feet of snow one day, then mid 50's the next, and then rain after that, and maybe back to snow next week?  Its a good thing its not trails season because its freakin soggy out there right now.  I love winter and have had a great one, but this video makes makes me wish it was trails time already.



Also most things in this are insane.  No hand double fronty?

Back to Whitefish, Montana to do some snowboarding and hang out with the cousin, unfortunatley he was/is experiencing some health issues and couldn't join me skiing, but huge thanks goes out to Mike and Maggie for being amazing hosts and letting me stay in their amazing house.  And get well soon Mike!

Anyways, the day I got into Whitefish it had snowed 9" with a few more the day before, unfortunately it was 9 PM and I couldn't get out in the storm.  The good news is in Whitefish you can still find untouched pow days after a storm, not to mentioned it snowed the entire day Sunday as well, and Monday.

Had some amazing inbounds runs Sunday then decided to hike to the sidecountry for some untouched runs in the afternoon with a couple of my cousin's friends.

Best run of my life, chest deep in spots with snow going straight over my head the whole time, I was living in the white room.  Unfortunatley I forgot the GoPro at home the first day.

Monday was more sick conditions with more hiking to the sidecountry in the afternoon, this time my cousin's friend Casey showed me up Hellroaring Peek.  There was a bootpack most of the way but the wind had filled it in at the top and we postholed through waist deep snow for the last 100 ft up.

"Only" wait deep this time (still plenty of faceshots!) but the whole peak was totally untouched, we were the only ones around. I got it on the GoPro but after moving 10 feet in the fog you can't see shit, oh well!  It was interesting talking to Casey also, he learned to ski at Highland back when it was a ski area.

Monday night was the Wailers show (minus Bob Marley, well there is only 1 original member I guess) but it was a really good show, minus some chick music bloggers that thought they were super important.

The other days were sweet too, some sun down in the valley, no visibility but plenty of snow on the mountain, and no shortage of Montana and west coast micro brews to sample.

Awesome trip minus my cousin not being able to ski, can't wait to do it again.  Pysched I come home to good conditions still too.  I'm getting a new computer and can edit some gopro footage soon.  Here is one semi shitty short one.





You should definatley watch this too because its fucking rediculous.

Anyways,

Blizzard of epic proportions to affect the Northeast? Time to go North before getting stuck in the flatlands for the weekend.  So me and Rob escaped to Highland Thursday night.  Woke up to 1/2" Friday morning, perfect conditions for a bike ride, but we had to hike the auto road, and what do you know, that 1/2" of snow is the perfect amount to cover ice in addition to making it even more slippery; good stuff.  Oh and Rob's front and rear shocks were both done for before we even started our way up.

Took a run down Cat's Paw and through the XC runs.  Hey what do you know the trails have ice on them in some spots too causing me and Rob to almost die on the fastest section of Cat's Paw the first run.  Went back out later with a little over 1" on the ground and took an awesome run from the top down Fancy to Cat's Paw. Its better when you have an idea where the ice is.





Also took a run through Cat Scratch to the XC stuff.



Saturday was storm day, woke up at 4am to drop the Cosbys off at the pool and had to dig a path through 1.5 ft of snow.  Woke back up at 6, shoveled the car out and went to Cannon for some pow.  It was awesome but freakin windy.

Back to Highland for a final snowshoe up the hill and to Thrash the Snow on the way back down...there was actually too much to get going in most spots.  Nice scenery too.

Woke up Sunday to a beautiful bluebird day, if only my legs actually worked.

Back home got more snow.

But it was still a fucking awesome weekend except for the rationing, and not of the food.

Have a post typed up from the weekend activities in NH but still need to upload my gopro footage so it'll have to wait.  But now I hear another 12-14" is possible for SNE this weekend, this after meterologists were all but writing off this storm?  That would be awesome, maybe SNE will look like this.
